Why are Shelter Standards important? This course will explain the structure of the shelter system in Toronto. All aspects of the Shelter Standards will be examined with emphasis on common issues typically encountered by individuals working with, or in, the shelter system.
Topics include service delivery, client responsibilities, access requests, customer service, basic needs, case management, support and services, health and safety issues, and administration practices.
It will take approximately six hours to finish the self-paced course, which must be completed within 30 days of enrolling. There will be opportunities to attend regularly scheduled webinars addressing issues relating to the Shelter Standards.
